How was the flight?

“We flew with Turkish Airlines from Birmingham Airport. The flight was fine and with the on board entertainment the time flew by. My earphone socket in the seat did not work so the cabin crew upgraded me to Business Class which was quite an experience. The food served and service was top quality.”

What was Hotel Sultania like?

“Hotel Sultania was lovely and we loved the theme of the room and the story behind each room. It really felt like were in Turkey and built a great experience from the start. The rooms were nice and clean with all the amenities needed. The staff were extremely friendly and the service was top rate. They all smiled and were very courteous and helped whenever they could. The hotel is in a perfect location to get around. The tram line is a couple of minutes’ walk which made everything easier.”

What activities did you get up to in Istanbul?

“Our plan was to see as much history as possible with Istanbul having one of the most amazing histories in the all the world. We visited the various mosques and historical significant buildings and all of them more than lived up to expectations. I would recommend getting a museum pass if you do want to go around the historical sites because in hindsight we wish we had done this because it worked out cheaper. Istanbul so rich in history but also it is very cosmopolitan and it is truly where Asia meets Europe. So much to do and see and I would highly recommend it to everyone.”

What was your Istanbul highlight?

“One thing I really liked was visiting the Grand Bazaar and shops. I have been to Morocco and Egypt numerous times and the selling is very pushy and over the top but I was pleasantly surprised this was not the case in Istanbul. You could look around any shop or Bazaar without feeling pressured into buying something. Which is a good tactic on their part because we ended up buying more.”

How did you find the dining options in Istanbul?

“You can never stay hungry for long in Istanbul because the dining options are all around you. Just outside our hotel there was at least 8 different places we could eat.”

What did you think of Pure Destinations’ service?

“The service is and always is top rate. The advice given by experienced travellers that work there is always great and also the research they do to help you is always top rate. Pure Destination to be honest is the only destination we would go to a book a holiday or short break. Thanks to all the Pure Destination team for making our trip so memorable.”
