Hayley & Christopher’s Amazing Maldives Honeymoon

Our clients, Hayley and Christopher spent 15 nights in the Maldives splitting their stay at Centara Grand Island Resort & Spa and OZEN By Atmosphere at Maadhoo Island. We caught up with newlyweds, Hayley & Christopher who shared their once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon in the Maldives.

What were your impressions of Centara Grand Island Resort & Spa? Did you receive any honeymoon benefits?

“The Centara Grand was an all-round good property, which was generally well-maintained and offered good value for money. The honeymoon benefits included a romantic table decoration on the final night.”

 

How was your stay in the Beach Suite?

“The Beach Suite was a very spacious accommodation and was just what we needed for our stay. The outdoor shower was a nice addition, and having the bedroom on the first floor, with an efficient air conditioning unit, was great.”

 

How was your experience on the all-inclusive plan?

“We enjoyed the dine around part of the all-inclusive plan, preferring to eat in the a-la carte restaurants to the buffet restaurant. The range of spirits was great and we did not feel that we wanted any additional premium brands, and the bar staff were eager to make up different cocktails for us, to meet our taste preferences.”

 

Did you do any activities or make use of the resort’s facilities whilst on the island?

“We enjoyed our daily free massage on a number of occasions and upgraded to an hour’s long massage on one day, and were very impressed with the ambience and service at the spa. We also took advantage of the free watersports, taking a banana boat ride, using a kayak and a pedalo. The included excursions, also added to our stay and though we didn’t manage to see a whale shark, we spotted dolphins and enjoyed getting off the island. Additionally, we enjoyed sunset fishing and a snorkelling trip to an outer reef.”

 

What were your impressions of OZEN By Atmosphere at Maadhoo Island? Did you receive any honeymoon benefits?

“OZEN was the epitome of indulgence and luxury. From the moment we were met at the airport and led to the luxury speedboat, to being picked up ahead of our departure and chauffeured in the golf buggy to breakfast, we wanted for nothing. We received a very good number of honeymoon benefits, all arranged for us by our butler.”

 

How was your stay in the Wind Villa?

“The Wind Villa was very spacious and furnished to a very high standard. The air conditioning could have been more efficient, in order that we could have enjoyed snuggling down in the luxurious bedding provided.”

 

How was your experience on the all-inclusive plan?

“The all-inclusive plan is out of this world. You want for nothing. MOET and Tattinger are offered across the island and the waiting staff were eager to top you up with this, or your favourite wine for the 100s available. The food is of the highest quality and chefs pride themselves on presentation too. From the buffet breakfast and made-to-order breakfast selection, to the raw, sushi bar and snacks at the pool, and the amazing Traditions restaurants, we were blown away by the food. The stand out dining experiences, were our honeymoon meal on the beach, and our underwater 5-course menu. We have never eaten so well on holiday and could not stop talking about the food when we returned.”

 

What were your overall impressions of the Maldives?

“The Maldives was a perfect honeymoon destination to get away from it all. It was so nice not seeing cars for 2 weeks and being surrounded by the bluest water and whitest sands you have ever seen. The landscape did not disappoint and we did not tire at marvelling at the colours around us.”

How was your seaplane transfer?

“The seaplane transfer was a very fun experience, if a hot one! We had seen the seaplanes landing and taking off again throughout our stay at Centara and it was great to experience it first hand. It was a very smooth ride and the views to the atolls below, one that is unique. I would recommend taking a bottle of water for this transfer, since we were in much need of it at the end.”

 

How was the service that you received from Pure Destinations?

“I cannot fault the service received from Pure Destinations, or the on the ground service from the local partners. Everything was processed correctly and all of my questions were answered quickly.”
