OVERVIEW

The Indonesian island of Bali is also known as ‘the Island of the Gods’ and from the moment you arrive in this tropical paradise it won’t be hard to see why. With its spectacular landscapes, consisting of verdant forests, emerald rice terraces and lofty mountains – not to mention pristine beaches and picturesque stretches of coastline –  the natural beauty of Bali holidays is undeniable; but the sumptuous richness of its culture and the friendliness of its people are just as much of an attraction to visitors.

Lombok is a beautiful island, which neighbours Bali with white pristine beaches with surfing spots. If you’re looking for an adventurous honeymoon, explore Lombok’s volcanic calderas and trek through lush jungles in search of trickling waterfalls. Lombok works well with a Bali holiday package as well as the option to visit the nearby Gili Islands for an unforgettable honeymoon.

Made up of 3 tiny islands found in the ocean near the coast of northwest Lombok, the Gili Islands are known for sandy beaches lined with swaying palm trees and vibrant coral reefs making this a fantastic destination for your honeymoon if you love snorkelling and diving with over 25 dive sites surrounding the islands. Each of the Gili Islands has its own characteristics; you can swim with turtles on Gili Meno, for beautiful views visit Gili Trawangan’s hill viewpoint and the smaller island of Gili Air can be travelled by foot in around 2 and a half hours!

Whether you are visiting Bali solo, with your significant other or with your family, you are sure to have an unforgettable vacation on this heavenly island. There are a wide range of accommodation options available to you, ranging from cheap and cheerful hotels to luxury resorts, and the wining and dining options are just as diverse. Families tend to favour Sanur, with its lovely beaches and charming but affordable resorts, or perhaps the delightful Jimbaran; but for more upscale accommodation, ideal for couples on a romantic break, head to Nusa Dua or Seminyak with its luxurious accommodation and trendy restaurants, bars and clubs.

There is so much to see and do on Bali holidays, whether you are interested in local history and culture, beach activities or adventure holidays. Be sure to visit at least a couple of its stunning Hindu temples, such as Uluwatu and Tanah Lot; you may also want to take a riveting cultural tour of the island or watch a compelling performance of traditional Balinese dance, an experience not to be missed.

Kids are sure to enjoy a trip to the Bali Treetop Adventure Park, the Bali Bird Park or the Taro Elephant Park, and there are plenty of exciting activities to take advantage of, ranging from scuba diving and paragliding to jungle trekking, horse riding and hiking through the lush rice fields.
