When is the Best Time to Visit Abu Dhabi?

Abu Dhabi is one of the most luxurious cities in the world, therefore will make the perfect retreat when celebrating a special occasion, or simply just treating yourself to a couple of weeks living like an A-lister. Before travelling, it’s worth getting some idea of the monthly weather predictions and activities occurring throughout the year to ensure you visit at the most appropriate time for you.

Abu Dhabi has all-year-round sunshine with reasonably warm temperatures both in the summer and winter which will make the perfect getaway break from the dark, grey days of the UK.

The best time to visit Abu Dhabi would be between April-May and September-October if you’re eager to steer clear of the crowds, while the wintertime from December to March offers less hot and humid conditions.

Visiting Abu Dhabi in January

January is considered one of the best months to visit Abu Dhabi. It’s a reasonably dry month with an average of just one day of rainfall. The temperature is much more comfortable than other times of the year, averaging at around 23 degrees Celsius during the daytime.

Visiting Abu Dhabi in February

February is the last month of Winter in Abu Dhabi and is still relatively cool with temperatures averaging around 24 degrees Celsius. Again, rainfall is still very low throughout the month so you’re highly unlikely to get caught in a rainstorm while exploring.

Visiting Abu Dhabi in March

March marks the first month of Spring in Abu Dhabi. Temperatures rise to an average of 28 degrees Celsius. Although slightly warmer than in previous months, it is still a comfortable climate for getting out and seeing Abu Dhabi’s main attractions or simply lounging on the beach. Due to the off-peak season of spring, you’ll also find that holiday prices are cheaper during this season which is always a bonus.

Visiting Abu Dhabi in April

April is much hotter than March and you can expect temperatures to rise to highs of 32 degrees Celsius during the day. It’s a great time to take a dip in the sea if you’re keen to embark on casual swimming or even fun water sports due to sea temperatures rising to a pleasant 25 degrees.

Visiting Abu Dhabi in May

May is the final month of spring in Abu Dhabi and temperatures are ‘hot, hot, hot’! This is a great month for simply kicking back and relaxing on the gorgeous white sand beaches or taking a dip in the ocean thanks to pleasantly warm sea temperatures of around 29 degrees Celsius.

Visiting Abu Dhabi in June

June welcomes Summer in Abu Dhabi and as you can expect, the climate remains hot and humid. Some records show that temperatures have risen to 50 degrees Celsius in some parts of the city – phew!

Visiting Abu Dhabi in July

July is still a blisteringly hot month in Abu Dhabi, so it’s best to stay in the shade where possible or treat yourself to a relaxing pool day. The good news is that most shops and restaurants are equipped with air conditioning facilities so you can escape from the intense sun if you need to.

Visiting Abu Dhabi in August

August is the final month of Summer in Abu Dhabi and temperatures are still extremely high – with averaging temperatures of around 40 degrees Celsius.

Visiting Abu Dhabi in September

Although September marks the first month of Autumn, temperatures are still extremely very intense and humid. The good news is that as the month plays out, things will start to cool down slightly so you can enjoy sightseeing without feeling too hot and sticky.

Visiting Abu Dhabi in October

Much the same as September, October is still relatively hot, however, the average high temperature decreases from a staggering 38 degrees to a more comfortable 34 degrees which allows you to make the most of your trip and enjoy all that the city has to offer.

Visiting Abu Dhabi in November

November is also a moderately hot month, but the gentle cool down means that sightseeing activities and attractions are back in full swing, This is also because tourist season is set to peak which means holiday prices will shoot up dramatically. If you’re keen to head to the city during this month, make note of visiting the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix which is one of the most awaited events of the year.

Visiting Abu Dhabi in December

Escape from the miserable dark days of December in the UK and celebrate a Christmas holiday in Abu Dhabi. Despite being the first month of Winter, you may be surprised to know that it is still a relatively warm month with average highs of around 24 degrees Celsius.
