Volunteers travel from all over the globe to help nurture injured, orphaned and sick orangutans before they can be released back into the wild. Visiting this sanctuary is bound to leave you with a whole new regard and appreciation for these fascinating creatures, and a raised awareness on just how important it is that we continue to try and protect endangered animals such as the orangutan.

If you love venturing out and discovering new spots explore, you will not be stuck for places to visit on your Malaysia holiday. Whether you are a beginner or a mountaineering fanatic, take an exhilarating trip through the clouds surrounding the highest mountain in Malaysia, Mt Kinabalu in Borneo. Overflowing with wildlife, this mountain trail will take you through rainforests, alpine-meadows, past unusual rock faces streaked with magnificent waterfalls; this mountain ascend is possibly the most varied in the world. From strolling to scrambling, this 4095m climb will leave your mind feeling invigorated (and perhaps your legs a little tired!). Let’s not forgot the hair-raising views when you reach the top, where you can watch the sun rise over the South China Sea, and at night you can gaze at a sky so starry you will want to reach out and touch them.
For the culture lovers…
Little India is a region located just outside Kuala Lumpur in the Brickfields which has a high concentration of Indian residents (hence its name!). Feast your senses as you stroll down the bustling streets overflowing with bright colours, dancing lights, exotic aromas and a constant buzz from all the noise. Little India is a hotspot for tourists as it is so enriched with culture and life; it is not a spot you want to miss on your Malaysia holiday.
For the sun and sand lovers…
Langkawi, known as The Jewel of Kedah, is renowned for its azure Andaman waters, pristine beaches and mythical past which any islander will tell you about. This paradise is perfect for people looking to bask in the radiant sunshine, admire the sweeping coastlines and sample the delicious cuisine. Langkawi is not just great for sun-lovers, it is also filled with mountains, limestone caves, and dense forests, giving you plenty of room for adventure. The night market in Palau Langkawi is also a great option for tourists when the sun goes down.
For shopaholics…
Malaysia offers it all when it comes to shopping. Whether you love buying luxurious, expensive brands from top-of-the-market shops, or if you prefer buying the perfect imitations from little market stalls, you are bound to find whatever you are looking for on your Malaysia holiday. Kuala Lumpur is a shopping central for tourists and locals, filled with markets such as those in Chinatown, and shopping centres such as Suria KLCC situated right next to the Petronas Towers. For local brands, try Berjaya Times Square, a 48 story shopping centre, hotel and amusement park.
For the kids…
