3. Great Wall of China

The Great Wall of China reaches 5,500 miles, stretching from the Gobi Desert in the west to the Bohai Sea in the East. There are many parts to the Great Wall of China to discover, the most popular is Badaling, which is the most preserved part. Jinshanling is a more remote part of the wall where you can enjoy the stunning vistas and lush surrounding scenery.

4. Giant Pandas

The Giant Panda welcomes over 100,000 visitors every year to the Chengdu Panda Research base where you can get up close and personal with china’s oldest inhabitants and national emblem. 5. Forbidden City

6. Grand Buddha of Leshan

China is home to the largest stone-carved and tallest pre-modern statue in the world, the Grand Buddha of Leshan (translating to Happy Mountain) is a world heritage site is an extraordinary statue to observe either from a boat from the waters below or at the bottom of the Buddha’s feet where you can really appreciate its gigantic size.

7. Potala Palace

Potala Palace towers above the city atop Marpo Ri. Formerly a symbol of the Tibet Government and home to the 5th and 14th Dalai Lamas, Potala Palace is still considered a shell of its former magnificence with its rich tapestry and history. Compromising of 13 stories with 1000 rooms, although not open to the public, the rooms are filled with treasures and the rooftop views are awe-inspiring.

8. Zhangjiajie

With more than 3,000 narrow limestone pillars, charming streams, pools and waterfalls, caves and natural bridges, Zhangjiajie is a dramatic natural park devised for the explorer. China’s first national forest parks owns the award winning title “World Geological Park” and is home to a collection of endangered plant and animal species, keep your eyes out while hiking this enchanted park.

9. Mount Emeishan

A natural wonderland with cool breezes, adventurous walks and stunning views, Mount Emeishan is located south of Chengdu and makes the perfect place to escape China’s busy city life. One of the most intriguing artifacts on the mountain, the Samantabhadra, is a magnificent golden stupa, with a bodhisattva sitting on four elephants, all looking different ways.

10. Huanglong

Famous for its colourful calcium pools, Huanglong brings a host of natural wonders, from snow-capped peaks, hot springs and waterfalls to endangered spieces including the Giant Panda and the Golden Snub-Nosed Monkey! For a magnificent view of the impressive blue, green and yellow pools head to the chairlift to the top of Huanglong for a bird’s eye view of this splendid sight.
