Tour Overview
If you’re eager to get under the skin of historic Kyoto, then consider an ‘e-biking’ experience. This half-day cycling tour takes you off the beaten path in one of Japan’s most intriguing cities, whisking you along labyrinthine backstreets on a foldable bike. An English-speaking guide will even offer nuggets of wisdom as you go, providing valuable insight into this captivating place.
You’ll begin at the NORU bicycle shop, picking up your rented bike and helmet (including in the tour price) before beginning a leisurely 7km ride through the city. Over the course of 3.5 hours, you’ll take in iconic sites such as the Kinkakuji (Golden Pavilion), a glittering golden temple that appears to float over a large pond filled with colourful koi. In amongst attractions that come listed in the tourist guidebooks, you’ll also be treated to a glimpse of classic Kyoto with a tour of lesser known Zen gardens and intimate spaces generally only frequented by locals.
