Caroline and Stuart’s Bali and Singapore Holiday Review

Our Edgbaston store manager, Michelle booked an incredible multi centre holiday for Caroline and Stuart to Bali and Singapore for 14 nights in exploration of amazing culture and fantastic food. We caught up with Caroline and Stuart after their holiday, to find out what they got up to. Read on to discover where they stayed and what they got up to in Ubud, Seminyak and Singapore!

What was your impression of Alila Ubud, did you make use of any of the hotel’s amenities such as the spa or dining restaurants?

“The Alila Ubud was a wonderful hotel in lovely tranquil setting, perfect first base to unwind for a few days after the long flight. The breakfast choice was very impressive and we also ate at the two restaurants which were very good too. We especially liked the infinity pool overlooking the valley. The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful.”

What was your room like at Alila Ubud?

“Our room was a generous size with a nice sitting area outside watching the monkeys climbing the trees opposite. The bathroom was unusual being half outside but very nice. It was always cleaned impeccably every day with the bed being turned down every night which is always a nice touch.”

Did you get up to any activities in Ubud, if so what did you love the most?

“We used the bikes the hotel provided for half a day just to go around a few local villages and rice fields and they have a couple of different route’s you can follow. We also went out in a 1946 Volkswagen open top car around some rice fields, villages and to taste the famous luwark coffee this was arranged through the hotel who also supplied a very impressive lunch.”

What was your impression of The Amala did you make use of any of the hotel’s amenities such as the spa or dining restaurants?

“The second hotel The Amala was a good hotel in a well-positioned area just out of all the hustle and bustle of Seminyak. The staff were very professional and helpful. We had a massage which was complimentary and very relaxing and we also used the hotel taxi in and around Seminyak.”

What did you like the most about your pool villa at The Amala?

“The pool villa was an excellent size it was very nice to be able to sit there and have breakfast delivered to your villa every morning. It was also nice to sit outside in the living area at night time.”

How did you spend your time in Seminyak? What was your highlight?

“We booked a taxi for one day and one evening through the hotel. We went to the Bedugul temple and twin lakes and also to tan a lot for sunset in the evening. The bars along the beach were very nice to sit at and watch the sunsets also between Kuta and Seminyak.”

What was your impression of Pan Pacific, did you make use of any of the hotel’s amenities such as the spa or dining restaurants?

“The Pan Pacific hotel was in an excellent location, and on arriving the staff were very courteous and welcoming. The buffet breakfast was very extensive and well stocked. We also visited the edge restaurant on our last night which was also buffet night with plenty of seafood and steaks; this was rather on the expensive side of the dining options.”

What did you like the most about your room at the Pan Pacific?

“We had the panoramic room on the 32 floor with excellent views overlooking the marina, Singapore flyer and Marina Bay Sands hotel. The room was a generous size and it was a nice touch having a handy phone to take out with you.”

How did you spend your time in Singapore? What was the highlight of your trip?

We visited the Singapore flyer, Marina Bay Sands hotel, Raffles hotel, Orchard Road and Gardens By The Bay, which included the cloud forest, super tree grove and the flower dome, national museum and also the botanical gardens which had the orchid garden and that was superb! We got around by using the hoppa bus and had discount by using our boarding bus with Singapore airlines on a lot of the attractions. We ran out of time to do all we wanted to so we will be returning there in the near future and we will definitely be staying at the Pan Pacific again! Thank you to Pure Destinations and especially Michelle for an excellent holiday.”
