Where to stay in St Lucia

St Lucia is a superlative destination for honeymooners and families alike. The island is designed for those who want high-end resorts and the very best hospitality in the Caribbean; you could say that it’s one of the most luxurious of the Caribbean islands. The locals are warm and friendly and go out of their way to assist you. There are many winding roads and steep hills within the hotel’s grounds due to the nature of its volcanic heritage.

What to do on a St Lucia holiday

Sunset Cruise

“Each Friday you can embark on a sunset cruise departing from The Body Holiday, staff serves nibbles and drinks and the cruise lasts around 2 hours with entertainment such as live music and dance floor.”

Street Party

“Party-goers will want to make their way to Rodney Bay where you will find a street party with a vibrant ambience of fun and socializing. This happens every Friday night, where the street is on lock down and shops setup mini bars.”

Volcano Tour with sulphur volcanic mud bath

“This tour is situated on the South Western volcanic coast of St Lucia and is one of the most visited sights on the island. The therapeutic mud baths and sulphur springs are open daily from 9am until 5pm.”

Soufriere Experience Tour

“This botanical garden has a collection of different flower species and mineral water baths. This exciting tour is the only volcano drive-in where you’ll get to soak in the hot mineral baths, visit the Toraille waterfall and visit Jalousie/Anse Chastanet beach.”

Where to stay in St Lucia

St Lucia offers different hotels for different holiday-goers; I would recommend Anse Chastanet if you want luxury infused with traditional Caribbean style. For a modern Caribbean experience, the likes of Jade Mountain or Sugar Beach will deliver this for you. Hideaway havens such as Jade Mountain, Cap Masion and Calabash Cove all offer plentiful sanctuaries for couples and honeymooners. Families can enjoy the fun-filled St James Club Morgan Bay, whilst adults’ only resorts such as Sandals Grande Antigua and Rendezvous are designed solely for adults.

Sugar Beach Hotel, A Viceroy Resort

“I would recommend Sugar Beach Hotel for couples of any age and families that wish to stay close to the resort, the service is of very high standard, but with a comfortable charm. I visited the standard room, which is more like a private residence, with private garden at the front, plunge pool and in prime location on the ground floor close to bars, restaurants and amenities.”

“The Hillside Villa is absolutely impressive with plenty of space. Each villa features a separate living room, bedroom, separate walk in closet, coffee making machine, premium branded drinks (at a fee), docking stations, iPad, butler service and deck area with pool. The views from the villa were impressive and tranquil.”

“The Spa is stunning, located in the midst of the rain forest, formed of wooden tree huts. The spa is situated nearby the nature forest, with wonderful hiking trails.”

Jade Mountain & Anse Chastanet

“Located around the Pitons, Jade Mountain and Anse Chastanet are sister hotels in perfect location with breathtaking views. Guests that stay at Jade Mountain can also dine in the sister hotel. Suites at Jade Mountain are ultra private, where you can see out, but people can’t see in. Each walkway between rooms lead to the main communal areas and suites. Butlers are not permitted to walk on the walkway until being called by the guest.“

“Situated on the top of Jade Mountain is the pool and rooftop terrace with wonderful views of St Lucia’s natural sceneries. The leading pool sanctuary is all open plan, including the bathroom, shower and toilet. Almost every sanctuary has its own infinity edge pool, overlooking the gorgeous Pitons.”

Anse Chastanet has it’s own chocolate factory and where you can learn about the process of chocolate making, and even enjoy a chocolate inspired spa menu! This resort is designed for no distractions, with no TV, iPods or entertainment systems to distract you from St Lucia’s beauty, and of course the place you are sharing your holiday with. Rooms are rustic and carry the Caribbean charm, with incredible beach views and 5 restaurants to dine around.”

The BodyHoliday LeSport Saint Lucia

“The Body holiday is a health spa resort escape nestled on Cariblue Beach, with colonial style architecture and a completely relaxed ambience. The customer service at The Body Holiday is immaculate, with 4 staff to 1 client ratio, staff are referred to as ‘Bodyguards’ and they work morning and night to entertain guests and host activities. The unique composition of The Body Holiday is what makes this resort so special, with themed months such as September Solos, designed for singles, offering complimentary spa treatments and inclusive water and land sports. During July-August, families can take advantage of family month, with mother-daughter beauty-bonding sessions, parents vs. children competitions and cooking classes!”

Calabash Cove

“This was by far my favourite St Lucia Resort, it’s the ultimate honeymoon hotel, with 26 rooms and outstanding Ocean views. Calabash Cove warrants seclusion and relaxation for that perfect hideaway hotel where you are spoilt with intimate living. The main restaurant is all a la Carte with branded drinks.”
