The Global Conference Dubai 2016

Dating back to the early 90’s, the annual Global Travel Group Conference offers business leadership sessions, networking exercises, entrepreneurial keynotes and awards. This year, the Global Conference was held in the thriving cosmopolitan of Dubai, in partnership with Dubai Tourism, Emirates Airlines, Atlantis the Palm and Dubai and Arabian Adventures. Read on to discover our highlights at the Global Conference Dubai 2016:

Where we explored…

Our director Lakh and honeymoon specialist Neil enjoyed many of Dubai’s highlights, from plunging head first into Aquaventure Waterpark at Atlantis The Palm, which features thrilling slides through shark lagoons and big vertical drops as well as relaxing rides such as the lazy river. Other incredible things to do at Aquaventure include dolphin encounters, Cownose Ray feeding, shark safari, a 700-meter beach and much more!

Lakh and Neil also got the chance to ride through the desert on a desert safari in a 4×4 vehicle through the twists, turns and curves of the golden dunes. After a thrilling safari through the desert, it was time to enjoy a welcome dinner in a traditional Bedouin-style camp at dusk.

N’Dulge Nightclub is the perfect place to let off some steam, with an upbeat ambience and plenty of rooms to explore, this is certainly a great place to end a night in Dubai. N’Dulge hosts brunches, themed nights and al fresco clubbing on the terrace with vibrant mood lighting to give you a feel of Vegas while enjoying panoramic views of Dubai.

Another great way to enjoy views while drinking something sparkly or tropical is at Nasimi Beach, known for its beach parties and celebrity status including the likes of Basement Jaxx, Nicky Romero, Example, Robin Schulz and SIGMA.

Travel insights…

Many people took to the stage at the Global conference Dubai 2016, including our director Lakh Hayer, who spoke about the success of Pure Destinations and Honeymoon Dreams!

An enlightening speech from Jo Fairley, the Co-Founder of the organic chocolate company, Green & Black’s and was the UK’s youngest-ever magazine editor gave her thoughts on ethical travel stating “We live in a more caring world. People are more conscious of the impact they are having.” And that Green & Black’s has had a significant impact in Belize where 80% of the children from where it sources ingredients go to secondary school compared to none when it started.

A speech from Nick Hughes, the Sales and Marketing director at Attraction World speaks his mind about the importance of the travel agent by going on to say “Why do customers go to a travel agent? It’s about trust and expertise; you show your experience and destination knowledge.”
