Room Types
Situated in seven acres of land, Grand Udawalawe Safari Resort has been beautifully designed to offer guests comfortable living. There are 79 rooms at the resort; 24 Deluxe, 29 Super Deluxe, 4 Suites and 22 Grand Suites and these are available as triples, doubles and singles. The rooms are attractively decorated with dark wood or stone floors and dark wood furnishings throughout. They have high vaulted ceilings and air conditioning for comfort and soft furnishings are in light muted shades. There are local artwork decorations. All rooms have free Wi-Fi in all public areas, flat screen satellite TV, an electric kettle, alarm clock and ironing facilities. Bathrooms are well designed with showers or bath tubs and complimentary toiletries.

This comfortable room is situated on the first floor and has parquet flooring with 33m² of floor space. With a king size or two twin beds, this room has a lovely balcony for relaxing and soaking up the exotic atmosphere. The attractive bathroom is spacious too with either bath tub or shower.

Offering generously sized accommodation with 65m² of floor space, these suites have views of the lovely Resort gardens and there is a furnished balcony for relaxing. Inside, there is a king size bed and comfortable living area with sofa and mini bar In the bathroom there is either a bath tub or shower and Jacuzzi – definitely designed with relaxation in mind.

There is radio, CD and DVD as well as flat screen satellite TV and mini bar. The bathroom is very attractive with twin wash basins and bath tub or shower. Outside there is a lovely balcony with table and chairs and interconnecting suites are available.

Luxury Super Grand Suite
This suite is spacious, airy and very comfortable, with beautiful parquet floors and bed side tables created from tree trunks! With an extra large double and spacious living area and bathroom, this suite also has an attractive balcony overlooking the gardens.
Facilities
The flood lit swimming pool certainly has the ‘wow’ factor as it is irregularly shaped and nestles under some kumbuk trees and it is not unusual to spot monkeys playing close by! The hotel also has a lovely open air theatre – ‘Wala’. There is a well equipped gym and massages are available. There is a 24 hour room service for those who would like to enjoy a meal in the privacy of their own room and a laundry service. Grand Udawalawe Safari Resort is also ideal for business trips with conference and banqueting facilities.

The restaurant is large and airy and well known for its excellent food which is served buffet style. Breakfast is generous and totally irresistible with stunning arrangements of local fruit, whilst lunch is light and flavoursome. The cuisine showcases the best of Sri Lanka with traditional local dishes as well as international classics. There is an a la carte menu too. There is live music several nights a week. During the day, light meals are available from the poolside bar as well.
