OVERVIEW

Malaysia is a South-East Asian country which is divided between a peninsula on the Asian mainland and the northern third of the picturesque island of Borneo. A cultural melting pot, Malaysia is home to prominent Chinese and Indian populations and is home to an array of religions including Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism. Featuring stunning islands and beaches, verdant nature reserves and vibrant cities such as Penang and the capital, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is a fascinating destination to visit and can’t fail to impress with its aura of romantic exoticism.

There is so much to see and do here, whether you are interested in learning more about local history and culture, going snorkelling and scuba diving, or exploring the breath-taking parks and nature reserves which can be found particularly in Sabah and Sarawak.

Start your trip in the cosmopolitan capital of Kuala Lumpur, where you can see the iconic Petronas Towers, enjoy world-class shopping and dining and explore the fascinating streets of Chinatown and Little India. Kuala Lumpur is also an ideal base from which to visit the Batu Caves, Deerland Park and the Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary.

From KL, head to Miri, in Sarawak, and delve into the breath-taking Gunung Mulu National Park, or make your way to Kota Kinabalu, on the island of Borneo. Take the kids to The Green Connection Aquarium, enjoy picnics on the golden expanse of Tanjung Aru beach and visit Lok Kawi Wildlife Park and the Kota Kinabalu Wetland Centre.

During your unforgettable trip to Malaysia you may also want to explore the lush Cameron Highlands, with their fertile emerald tea plantations, or experience the delicious cuisine, beautiful beaches and interesting colonial heritage sites to be found on the island of Penang.
