Abu Dhabi Holiday

Abu Dhabi can be combined with

Malaysia, Maldives, Seychelles, Thailand

Overview

If you are looking for the perfect destination for an exotic Arabian holiday then head to Abu Dhabi, sister Emirate of Dubai and in possession of its own fascinating cosmopolitan city. Though it is in a continuous state of development and boasts some of the region’s finest luxury hotels and world-class restaurants, Abu Dhabi is also more laidback than Dubai and boasts fertile gardens and parks, spacious streets and a 6km Corniche overlooking the sea. The city also offers easy access to the attractions of the desert, with its vast, barren beauty and timeless aura of romance and wildness.

Spend your Abu Dhabi holiday booked in to one of its opulent hotels or resorts and prepare to experience the exotic allure of the Middle East. Visit the city’s fascinating cultural attractions, such as the iconic Sheikh Zayed Mosque which offers guided tours, enjoy a picnic in Al Safa Park and ramble along the Corniche soaking up the sunshine, the sea and the unique atmosphere of Abu Dhabi. If you are visiting during winter be sure to head to the Camel Race Track to catch the Thursday and Friday races, and whatever time of year you visit make sure you book a desert safari. These trips include dune bashing, a lavish dinner and live entertainment provided by a talented belly dancer.

Bahamas Holiday

Bahamas can be combined with

Antigua, Barbados, Grenada, Jamaica, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, St Lucia, St Vincent & Grenadines, Turks & Caicos

Overview

The Bahamas is an archipelago of over 3000 islands (including cays), world-renowned for its stunning scenery, rich culture and warm, friendly locals. The capital of the Bahamas is Nassau, located on the eastern half of New Providence Island, a bustling historic town which is home to the vast majority of the Bahamian population. Once the hideout of famed pirate Blackbeard, these days Nassau is a thriving capital and a popular stop-off point for cruise ships. Some of the attractions you can visit here include the Pirate Museum, the Graycliff Cigar Company and the National Art Gallery.

Generally, though, the islands of the Bahamas are known for their natural attractions – the stunning beaches and sparkling azure waters. Water-based sports and activities are sure to be the main draw for many tourists. You can enjoy everything from snorkelling and scuba diving to deep-sea fishing, kiteboarding and dolphin watching courtesy of Bahamas Dolphin Encounters. There are also a variety of eco/adventure tours on offer, not to mention boat excursions such as the Flying Cloud or the Booze Cruise. If you want to explore ‘off the beaten track’, head to Andros, the largest and most sparsely populated island, home to mangrove swamps, untamed forests and savannas – and supposedly a legendary creature called the chickcharnie.

Bora Bora Holiday

Bora Bora can be combined with

Hawaii, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York

Overview

Bora Bora is part of the Society Islands archipelago of French Polynesia. Famed for its breath-taking natural beauty and luxury resorts, this remarkable isle has become a highly popular tourist destination, so much so that tourism is now almost the sole industry in Bora Bora. Served by the Bora Bora Airport on Motu Mute, the island receives 5 or 6 daily Air Tahiti flights from Papeete; the airline provides a free bus shuttle service to Vaitape, the largest settlement on Bora Bora. Once you reach the island there is no public transport but rental bicycles and cars are readily available, or you can hire a two-seater buggy. If you want to explore the lagoon, you can hire a motorboat for the purpose.

The predominant languages spoken on Bora Bora are French and Tahitian, but due to the island’s tourist-driven economy English is also commonly spoken. Most of the attractions on the island are water-based, as the island is surrounded by a pristine lagoon and barrier reef. Inland you will find an extinct volcano which juts into two dramatic peaks, Mount Otemanu and Mount Pahia.

Overview

Mauritius holidays are renowned for its paradise-like beauty, as well as for its luxury resorts and its magnificent swathes of powder-soft sand. The best place to begin any trip to Mauritius is in its dynamic capital of Port Louis, a mesmerising cultural melting pot which is guaranteed to charm with its stately colonial buildings, its bustling streets and Le Caudan Waterfront. While you’re here be sure to thrust yourself into the enjoyable mayhem of Central Market where you can purchase souvenirs for friends and family back home, and some more unusual items such as aphrodisiacs and Chinese healing herbs. Depending on the timing of your visit you may also want to visit the Champ de Mars Racecourse, which hosts races from (approximately) April to late November and is a historic site where Mauritian independence was declared back in in 1968.

Overview

Thailand – the tropic Southeast Asian paradise –  is an extremely popular destination with the backpacker, jet setter, and honeymoon couple. What is it that makes this country a world-famous destination? Quite simply, it’s unique blend of traditional temples, palaces, lush jungles, and bustling cities. Thailand has so much to offer for all tastes and interests, so be sure to book enough annual leave to make the most of traveling around this breath-taking part of the world.

Lively, loud, and exotic – Bangkok is certainly a destination for the eager city-goer to tick off their bucket list. Some of the most popular attractions here include the religious sites of Wat Phra Chetuphon and Temple of Dawn (Wat Arun); or if you wish to see some traditional Thai wares in full glory, wander at your leisure around the Chatuchak weekend market. By night, you could hop into your own personal tuk-tuk to see the wonderful lit-up sights of the city. Feeling peckish and need a late-night snack? You’ll be spoiled for choice at the wide array of restaurants where you can taste some quality authentic Thai cuisine.

Located in the south of Thailand, the castaway island of Phuket is where you can unwind and enjoy a calmer and slower-paced environment. The picture-perfect bright white sands and crystal blue ocean will truly make it feel as though you have stepped into a magazine. If you wish to enjoy more of a buzz on one of the evenings here, venture to the west coast city of Patong where you’ll find an array of lively bars and clubs.

Maldives

Overview

Turkey is a land of ancient mystery and modern-day exoticism, with stunning landscapes and architecture which reflects thousands of years of tumultuous history and diverse influences. Home to the vibrant city of Istanbul, pristine Aegean beaches, Roman ruins and lively bazaars, Turkey bewitches and beguiles at every turn and is the perfect place to explore whether you are backpacking on a budget or treating yourself to a luxurious vacation at this meeting place of East and West.

Depending on where you go in the country you will experience dramatically different landscapes, from the dramatic fairy chimneys of Cappadocia to the windswept steppes of Central Anatolia and the pine-clad mountains of Mediterranean Turkey. If you’d love to enjoy a sun-drenched Turkish beach holiday then head to the likes of Patara, an 18km swathe of sand or Iztuzu Beach, a few kilometres south of Dalyan, nesting site of the local loggerhead turtle population. There is also stunning Ölüdeniz with its golden beach and shimmering lagoon.

However Turkey is home to many other natural delights besides its beaches; go trekking through the majestic Kaçkar Mountains, visit the legendary Mount Ararat and delve into the dramatically named Caves of Heaven and Hell not far from Narlikuyu.

Kenya, Maldives, South Africa

Overview

Dotted in the glistening Indian Ocean, 60 miles off Africa’s east coast lays the jewel-like island of Zanzibar. The Island’s capital, Stone Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with palm fringe beaches, sugar white sands and azure warm waters, serving as your castaway island retreat after a thrilling safari holiday in Tanzania.

Zanzibar is a beach lover’s paradise, with Nungwi on the northern end of the island featuring a palm-fringed coastline and is where you will find the turtle conservation pond with green and hawksbill sea turtles as well as coral reefs offering the chance for exceptional snorkelling experiences. While on the southeast of the island, there’s the village of Bwejuu, which has been voted as one of the top island beaches by Conde Nast Traveller.

This idyllic island getaway is so much more than meets the eye, there’s plenty of sightseeing to do, as the island’s capital, Stone Town has architecture and history from all over the globe, such as African, Arabian, Indian and European influences. Stroll past catholic cathedrals, colonial-style houses and authentic Hamamni Persian baths in just one day. The island is known for its spice trade, and a great way to learn all about the local culture is to go on a tour that will take you around the winding streets to show you first hand about the production and trade of the spice industry.

If the thrill of your safari holiday has you wanting more, Zanzibar is home to a micro national park that you can explore. Jozani Forest is home to Red Colobus Monkeys, 50 different species of butterflies and 40 species of birds.
